 To avoid plagiarism, you should always give credit to the source of the information.  This can be done within the body of your text of by using a citation page.

By citing your information, you not only give credit to the original author, but you also give your reader the sources that you used if they may want to investigate on their own.

At Littleton Public Schools, the Modern Language Associations (MLA) method of citing sources is primariily used.

Whether you are using an encyclopedia, a website, a personal interview, a book or magazine, you should give credit to the source.  Each of these resources have slightly different citation formats under the MLA (Modern Language Association) guidelines.
